FAFSA: Understanding Financial Aid

Beyond applying and being accepted into college, the next hurdle that students must tackle is figuring out how to pay for college.  That is where the FAFSA comes in.
FAFSA determines financial aid for you!
Obviously, this is a crucial part to going to school, as most colleges will not let students walk into classes without dropping a dime.  Financial aid is the most significant contributor to students
The FAFSA is a form that your college use to determine how much aid their students will be awarded.  This post will discuss the FAFSA and how students should approach it.

Is College For You? Try Trade Schools!

Hello Students,

I know the title of this post may seem a little odd, especially since this blog is about you students going to college.

You will find me saying that anyone can go to college, and I firmly believe this.  However, is that where everyone should go?  Is college for everyone?

Again, I firmly believe all students can succeed in college if they have the right support.  There are alternatives to this form of higher education!  A very solid and stable option would be to attend a Trade School!

Do not know much about them, or what they can offer?  Read on!

For the love of Education: See Your Guidance Counselor!

Hello Students!

This may seem like an obvious thing to do, going and talking with your high school guidance counselor.  Looking back on my own experience, I really wish I would have done this when I was in high school.

I figured, since I did not plan or know anything about college, I would not need to visit my guidance counselor.  Well this thought was wrong!

Do Not Be Afraid: Federal Student Loans Work!

Hello Students!

I have decided to continue with the theme of paying for college, and to discuss what most feel is a last resort:  Student Loans.

I know one of the goals in attending College is graduate with as little debt as possible.  Sometimes, sadly, Financial Aid cannot foot your entire bill, and you are left with little to no options.

The goal of this post is to explore the Student Loan option as a viable option for you students to pay you  tuition, and that Student Loans and the debt is not as abad as it sounds.

Did you say... Grants?

Hello Students!

This post is going to keep talking about what the last Scholarship post touched on, and that is Grants.  Grants are another form of money you students can use to pay for your College education, and it is money you do not have to pay back!

Did you say... Scholarships?

Hello Students,

So we are thinking about college, and applying for schools and filling out the FAFSA for financial aid. This is good, as paying for college is obviously important!  Do not think though that your financial support stops with the FAFSA.  There are a variety of options students can pursue such as scholarships and grants.

This post will discuss the difference between scholarships and grants, and will help you students to research scholarship opportunities!
