What Classes You Should Take in High School

Hey Students!

So last week I was talking with my cousin, who is thirteen, about high school.  She will be starting high school this fall, and we were discussing which class she should take, Auto-Tech or Spanish.

My Cousin wanted to take Auto-Tech, because her friends were also taking it.  I thought that was not a good reason and tried pushing her to take Spanish.  We talked at length about which was better and why, and I finally convinced her to take the Spanish class.

Why, you may ask, is this important to you?  I think this is a common question among all high school students when it comes to preparing for college:  which classes put you in the best position to be accepted into, and ready for, college?

FAFSA: Understanding Financial Aid

Beyond applying and being accepted into college, the next hurdle that students must tackle is figuring out how to pay for college.  That is where the FAFSA comes in.

Obviously, this is a crucial part to going to school, as most colleges will not let students walk into classes without dropping a dime.  Financial aid is the most significant contributor to students 

The FAFSA is a form that your college use to determine how much aid their students will be awarded.  This post will discuss the FAFSA and how students should approach it.

For the love of Education: See Your Guidance Counselor!

Hello Students!

This may seem like an obvious thing to do, going and talking with your high school guidance counselor.  Looking back on my own experience, I really wish I would have done this when I was in high school.

I figured, since I did not plan or know anything about college, I would not need to visit my guidance counselor.  Well this thought was wrong!
